On June 4, 2007, Bill 212 - An Act to amend the Education Act in respect of behaviour, discipline and safety - was passed into law. The law came into effect on February 1, 2008. The Board passed four policies to reflect the new law and the Ministry of Education Policy and Program memoranada.
The four new policies are:
- Suspension, Explusion and Appeal
- Progressvie Discipline and Promoting Postive Student Behaviour
- Bullying Prevention and Intervention
- Code of Conduct
These four policies along with their administrative procedures can be found on the Board's website (www.pvnccdsb.on.ca). The legislation is rooted in progressive disipline to support positive student behaviours; a safe learning environment; emphasis on the school as a learning community and intervention to assist student to remedy their behaviour where necessary.
