Prom 2008Theme: "Hollywood Nights"Friday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Cobourg Lions Centre*Prom parade begins at St. Mary's Parking Lot at 6:00 p.m. 2008 Prom Co-ordinators: Ms. S. Taylor, Mrs. S. Richards, Mr. Gervais, Marianne Poirier, Melissa Robinson, Sara Davey, Brea MacNeil, Sheilagh Jones, Sarah McGee-Gauthier, Jessica Meers, Nicole Jackson, Rachel Johnston and Jamie Dolley. Highlights for this year's Hollywood Prom include a "Hollywood Wall of Fame", a Red Carpet Premiere, an "Oscar Awards Ceremony" and live appearances by past and present celebrities. The Prom Committee meets once a week as they work towards the goal of making a very special evening. Every year, the graduating students are surveyed to choose the theme, food, location and gift. During the school year the committee is involved with many fundraising activities including Love-O-Grams, roses and various raffles. These are all related to our holidays as we all enjoy giving special treats to friends. Our largest fundraiser is the Semi-Formal Dance for Valentines. This dance is quite unique as it is well attended by all grades, and our food classes, under Mr. Taylor's guidance, serve up some very scrumptious finger foods and sweets. In May, the Prom Committee enlists the help of junior students as the Prom Attendants. These attendants are then responsible for the overall set-up and clean-up and smooth running of the evening as decided upon the Prom Committee. Tickets are priced at $35.00 per person and will be sold to students by Mr. Gervais in room 119 beginning Monday, April 21st. Tickets will only be sold to students upon submission of their signed "Prom Contracts" to Mr. Gervais.
